Known as Germany’s financial powerhouse and home to the European Central bank, Frankfurt is nevertheless packed with cultural and historical attractions, a lively nightlife and restaurant scene to suit all visitors.
In this well-organised city, visitors will find some superb shopping, marvellous museums, interesting historic sites, world-class opera and jazz and a few charming neighbourhoods, like Nordend and Bockenheim.
Cruises down the River Main give a fantastic perspective of Frankfurt’s historical progression. The river cuts the city in two and affords stunning views of the skyscrapers and the traditional buildings of Frankfurt’s Museum Embankment.
For those wishing to attend the 2016 German Formula One Grand Prix in Hockenheim (some 90km away), Frankfurt airport is the closest.
