UK’s fourth largest city over the last few decades has re-invented itself to be a modern city with a thriving art and culture scene and is now one of Europe’s hippest spots.
Glasgow is home to several outstanding art galleries, including the Burrell Collection, Gallery of Modern Art and Kelvingrove Art and Museum, a vast number of trendy restaurants and bars and a vibrant nightlife. It also has some of the UK’s best shopping with its ‘Style Mile’ packed with designer and boutique shops.
Tourists find plenty to see and do in Glasgow, and can also use it as a base to explore the surrounding countryside, boasting some of Scotland’s most scenic mountains, glens, lochs and coastline. Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park are under an hour’s drive away and those seeking a scenic hike or water sport activities will find them nearby.
